SUMMER MISSIONS REPORT EMILY GREEN
| Hi everyone! I hope that all of y'all are doing well and are enjoying your summer. Last week in San Juan was amazing... our English classes were great. Although we almost died at the fireworks show :) God blessed us incredibly. The Christians here are so awesome. Yesterday we arrived in Ixtapaluca, our final destination, where we will stay for 3 weeks. It's a small(er) town on the outskirts of Mexico City, and it actually feels like a small town. One of the other girls and I are living with an awesome family, right next door to a friend from the church and one of the other interns. We are within walking distance of almost everything (and if we can't walk there we can ride in the amazing van with our little brother). We found out why the driving in Mexico is so crazy... when you turn 16 you can drive, no license necessary (there is no test). Fun stuff :) Anyway, we are having a blast so far and I absolutely love my familia here. The church here is awesome... we had about 60 people in a room the size of my bedroom back home. I have learned so much about true Christian hospitality here. This week we are going to help with a sports camp and with English classes, so please pray for that. Please pray that we will be able to form great relationships with the people here and that God will use us to encourage the church here. And pray that God will continue to work all over Mexico because wherever you go, there are shrines to the Virgin of Guadalupe. It is seriously like the idol worship described in the Bible. So keep praying that God will reveal His truth here and refresh us daily with His love. Thanks for the prayers :) in Christ, Emily |
